Funeral Scheduled Today for Buchanan Centenarian

The funeral for Buchanan resident Catherine Evelyn Greene, who died Sunday at the age of 100

Catherine Evelyn Greene, of Buchanan, entered into eternal rest at Calvary Hospital on Dec. 9. She was 100 years old.

Greene was born in Brooklyn to Bernard and Catherine (Broderick) Greene on Feb. 08, 1912. She is survived by her dear niece Kathleen McGuire Valentine of Arizona and many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters.

Catherine was a loyal member of the Catholic Daughters of America, The Buchanan Seniors Club and Tops. She was a lifetime daily communicant of St. Christopher's Church, where she was the senior member of the Alter-Rosary Society and the Parish Counsel. Reposing Tuesday at the Cortlandt Funeral Home.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated noon Wednesday at St. Christopher's Church in Buchanan. Interment will follow at the Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
