Allan Martin was a loving, caring father, sometimes stubborn, his heart was always in the right place.
He did what he could to provide for his family, if you were his friend you could always look to him for help. This was the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back if you asked him.
He had always been a bit of a troublemaker and was the source of some great stories for his parents to tell their grandkids and he himself would have plenty of great ones to tell you, I'll share one underneath this as that does him more justice and tells you more than this text.
One time when he was younger he was out playing in the snow throwing snowballs having a grand time and had accidentally dinged a car with one, the owner was none to happy and tried to chase him but unfortunately Allan was a bit of a wild one and took off down the hill using his shoes with flat bottoms to "sled" down the hill and away from the upset man.
Things like the above are a common thing, the man was full of life and adventure and enjoyed just having a good time for the sake of it.
He had his own ambitions and goals and would share them gladly and go on and on if you let him, he loved being outside and would talk about how he wished he could have a nice job that just let him be outside all the time. He was focused hard on his own fitness and pushed himself to stay in shape.
Even while he was sick you could catch him doing curls with his good arm in an effort to "Keep my strength up" if there was something you could say about him was he was resilient and a fighter.
His love and concern for others never waned even as his health worsened, a truly stoic soul who had more concern over how people were doing rather than himself.
He always was up for playing video games with his kid and much to the chagrin of his wife would also feed them pizza after a trip to blockbuster for a new game to try.
Always ready to crack a joke or give you what would be a signature smirk of his he was taken, like many others before him too soon.
Allan would want us to be happy and to continue to love and live, he will always be with each of us.
For those that have been touched by his life, rejoice! for love is a timeless thing that death cannot take and our love for him will ever deepen as our grief will not.
